This is the classic, go-to slime recipe for families. Itās quick, uses just a few ingredients, and skips borax powder altogether, making it a safer and simpler option for kids.
Sticky fun, minimal mess, maximum smiles. Letās slime! š
½ cup washable white or clear PVA school glue (Elmerās works great)
½ teaspoon baking soda
1½ā2 tablespoons saline (contact lens) solution
(Must contain boric acid to work!)
Optional fun add-ins: food coloring, glitter, confetti āØ
Mix the base
Pour the glue into a medium bowl. Stir in the baking soda until fully combined.
Add the fun stuff
Mix in food coloring, glitter, or confetti now until the color looks just right.
Activate the slime
Slowly pour in 1½ tablespoons of saline solution while stirring. Youāll see the slime start to thicken and pull together almost immediately.
Knead it out
Once the slime forms a ball and pulls away from the bowl, take it out and knead with your hands. It may feel sticky at first. Keep kneading!
Adjust if needed
Still sticky? Add the remaining ½ tablespoon of saline solution a few drops at a time while kneading until smooth and stretchy.
When playtime is over, store slime in an airtight container or zip-top bag to keep it soft and stretchy.
⢠Clear glue = glassy slime
⢠White glue = classic fluffy slime
⢠Too rubbery? You added too much saline
⢠Too sticky? Add saline slowly, not all at once
Always supervise young children when making and playing with slime.
Slime is for playing, not eating.
